IT’S TIME TO MAKE A CHANGE.

About me:

I’ve been in the field of personal and professional development for over 20 years. Early in my career, I worked as a corporate trainer and consultant for a globally recognized firm that partnered with top-tier companies in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Although these trainings with the employees yielded many breakthroughs, lasting change seemed limited.

During this time, I adopted a wild horse from the Bureau of Land Management—a life changing experience.  Although I’d grown up around horses, this little mare presented unique challenges. As I learned about equine behavior and fine-tuned my relational skills, our partnership grew—I grew. It was a fascinating and unexpectedly impactful experience. I became more self-aware, confident, and a better communicator.  As a result, I left the corporate world to pursue graduate studies in experiential psychotherapy. My intention was to introduce people to a journey of self-discovery and personal growth by becoming more aware, insightful, and relational through the process of attuned horsemanship.

In my academic pursuits I discovered there is a power that lies at the intersection of body-oriented psychotherapy, relational neurobiology, and the psychobiology of attachment and trauma. I obtained a master’s degree in counseling psychology from St. Mary’s College of California. I was also certified in a 3-year trauma training, Somatic Experiencing®, the pioneering work of Dr. Peter Levine. My path to licensure included working in diverse settings: community mental health, juvenile hall, elementary and middle schools, business settings, and equine therapy programs. Alongside my clinical work, I continued to work with wild and traumatized horses incorporating nervous system and attachment theories into our interactions.

Ongoing education led to additional advanced certifications in complex trauma, developmental trauma, and attachment modalities. My core therapeutic foundation is Somatic Experiencing.  For over a decade, I’ve been a Somatic Experiencing training assistant, traveling across the U.S. and internationally supporting the training team.

I’ve been in private practice for 12-years specializing in body-oriented, attachment-based psychotherapy. I also facilitate an executive coaching program bringing neurobiology and relational awareness into the workplace. I continue to work with people and their horses; I’m an approved session provider for EquuSoma.  Horses have been my best teachers. They’ve taught me, on a deep visceral level, embodiment, nuanced awareness, the importance of relational safety, and profound healing wisdom of relational attachment.

In my free time, I compete in long-distance endurance racing with my amazing Arabian partner, Moubarak.

Our work

is to honor the resilience that already exists within and to identify what’s holding back from feeling fully alive.

The collaborative partnership between a therapist and a client creates a sacred space. As a therapist, I am entrusted with the most vulnerable, intimate process of one’s transformation. I hold this work with awe—fully aware of the immense courage it takes to reveal one’s authentic, unguarded self. I approach this process with profound respect.

truth & courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness.
