Joy and connection are your birthrights—you deserve an empowered, peaceful life.
Trauma
Sometimes when we have been in situations that were too much, too fast, and lacked adequate support, our system’s natural defensive strategies, fight, flight, freeze and appease can get stuck in the body. Trauma symptoms occur when the body gets stuck in these survival modes making it hard for the system to regulate even after the threat has passed. The energy from these types of experiences can remain trapped in our system, disrupting our sense of safety and stability, causing emotional and physical symptoms long after the event.
Trauma impacts our mind, body, and spirit.
Shock Trauma
Single, overwhelming events like accidents, injuries, medical procedures, or life-threatening situations.
Complex trauma
Prolonged exposure to stress or varied and multiple traumatic events, often invasive and interpersonal.
Attachment, relational, and developmental trauma
Prolonged exposure to adverse experiences during critical developmental stages, typically in early childhood, including attachment and relational trauma. These experiences disrupt the development of secure attachment and can lead to deeply ingrained patterns of disconnection, affecting identity, emotions, and relationships.

Not at all. You can share what you feel comfortable sharing. I will ask for details as your nervous system reveals information. The beginning of therapy does not need to start with overwhelm.
-
We will decide together by starting with this question, by the end of therapy, what do you want most for yourself?
