Virtual sessions are nearly as effective as in-person sessions for somatic psychotherapy.
A HIPPA compliant Zoom link is sent the morning of the scheduled appointment. You will need to find a quiet, safe environment free from interruptions and distractions. Please ensure you are alone, in a private space, and cannot be overheard by others. Recording the sessions is not permitted. For the best experience, please use dependable devices, including a camera, speaker, microphone, and stable internet connection. Please position your camera so I can see a close-up of your head, face, neck, and chest. For best results, please be in a sitting position with your feet on the floor. Please do not try to hold your device.

At any given moment, two stories unfold simultaneously: one is the cognitive narrative, made up of memories, thoughts, interpretations, and beliefs; the other is the nervous system’s reactions and responses. In somatic therapy, we observe, track, and gently attune to both stories, creating space for new patterns and insights to emerge.
-
At the start, the first three sessions are scheduled weekly to give us time for a thorough assessment of your nervous system’s patterns. These sessions also help clarify what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process and allow us to set clear intentions for our work together. Additionally, they offer you a chance to experience somatic psychotherapy firsthand and explore my therapeutic approach, so you can decide if it feels like the right fit for you.
From there, we decide together if we will meet twice a week, once a week for 50-min session or 70-min session, or every other week.
-
Some clients begin to notice relief after just one session, while more complex challenges may require up to 20 sessions to experience meaningful change. The pace of progress varies for each person, as healing depends on the unique patterns of your nervous system and the depth of the issues we explore together.
